Komodo Named to 2021 List of Most Innovative Digital Health Startups by CB Insights

Most Innovative Digital Health-Blank

Recognized for its data integration and analytics capabilities, Komodo Health is driving crucial real-world patient insights across the healthcare ecosystem

San Francisco – December 9, 2021: CB Insights named Komodo Health to its third annual Digital Health 150, which showcases the 150 most promising private digital health companies in the world. With unparalleled data integration and analytics capabilities, Komodo’s Healthcare Map™ is recognized as the industry’s largest and most complete database of de-identified, real-world patient insights, providing a longitudinal view of encounters with the healthcare system for over 330 million patients.

The 2021 Digital Health 150 list includes startups at various investment stages of development, from early-stage to well-funded unicorns. Companies this year include startups working on data integration and analytics, virtual and in-person care, digital therapeutics, clinical intelligence, and more.

“This year’s Digital Health 150 is one of our most expansive yet, spotlighting 16 categories including virtual care, clinical trials tech, and workflow automation, as well as adding new categories such as home health tech and computer-aided imaging,” said Brian Lee, SVP of CB Insights’ Intelligence Unit. “Last year’s class has seen more than 20 exits, raised an additional $18.6B in aggregate funding, and announced over 250 partnerships since being recognized, and we’re excited to see the future success of this year’s winners.”

“Komodo Health is honored to be selected as one of the most promising digital health companies for a second year in a row and we’re proud of the growing impact of our platform and solutions,” said Web Sun, Co-Founder and President, Komodo Health.  “At Komodo, we believe the power of data and analytics to unlock a comprehensive understanding of the patient journey – with visibility into every touchpoint a person has with the healthcare system – is essential to transforming healthcare and reducing the burden of disease.”

Throughout 2021, Komodo has announced a series of key milestones and client engagements as the company’s data and software continue to help the industry close gaps in care. Earlier this year, Komodo launched two new powerful software solutions, Prism and Sentinel, that provide real-time intelligence on human health in just a few simple clicks. Additionally, Komodo layered new demographic data into its Healthcare Map and inked important partnerships with PicnicHealth, Klick Health, and Janssen. The company also announced its series D funding led by ICONIQ Growth, its series E funding led by Tiger Global, and the acquisitions of Mavens and Breakaway Partners.

Through an evidence-based approach, the CB Insights research team selected the Digital Health 150 from a pool of over 11,000 companies, including applicants and nominees. They were chosen based on several factors, including data submitted by the companies, company business models and momentum in the market, and Mosaic scores, CB Insights’ proprietary algorithm that measures the overall health and growth potential of private companies. This year’s Digital Health 150 was unveiled live during CB Insights’ annual Future of Health event.
