Paul Gurney leads the development and strategy of Komodo’s data product portfolio. In his role, Paul oversees the creation of innovative data solutions that unearth patient-centric insights at scale to inform decision-making, close gaps in care, and reduce the burden of disease. Paul has been instrumental in launching groundbreaking products like National Drug Projections, which provides real-time market intelligence on prescription trends and market share across more than 10,000 therapies.

Paul has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare and technology. He previously was a partner at McKinsey & Company for 14 years, where he served biotechnology companies on strategic topics including portfolio prioritization, product launch strategy, and optimizing commercial models. Prior to McKinsey, Paul built microchips for satellite communications and medical imaging applications at Spectrum Signal Processing.

Paul holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, where he developed new techniques for cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging. He holds six patents for various healthcare technologies.
